Ready for Kindergarten.

Ready for Life.

Our Pre-K program combines purposeful play with intentional instruction, rich literature, and whole-child learning to help children enter kindergarten confident, curious, and ready to succeed.

THREE CHEERS FOR PRE-K

A full day of learning, built about how Pre-K children learn best.

Three Cheers connects stories, conversation, play, movement, small-group instruction, and exploration so children can practice new skills in more than one way and across more than one part of the day

HOW LEARNING COMES TOGETHER

Three ways children build kindergarten-ready skills.

Literacy & Language

Stories, songs, conversation, and writing experiences build the language children need to understand, express, and share ideas.
  • Letter & sound recognition
  • Vocabulary & language
  • Early reading & writing
  • Listening & storytelling

Purposeful Play

Children learn by doing. Centers, small groups, STEM, art, movement, and dramatic play give new concepts a place to come alive.
  • Learning centers
  • Small-group instruction
  • STEM exploration
  • Art, music & movement

Whole-Child Development

Academic learning grows alongside independence, problem-solving, self-regulation, relationships, and responsibility.
  • Confidence & independence
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Self-regulation
  • Cooperation & responsibility

LITERACY & LANGUAGE

Stories become a launch point for learning.

Three Cheers uses quality children’s literature to introduce vocabulary, ideas, and conversation. Children listen, discuss, retell, make connections, and begin building the foundational skills that support reading and writing.

Story Time

Guiding questions connect what children already know to new ideas.

vocabulary

Words from stories and themes become part of classroom conversation.

phonological awareness

Daily practice builds awareness of sounds, syllables, and spoken language.

writing experience

Group and independent writing opportunities connect spoken and printed language.

PURPOSEFUL PLAY

Children practice what they learn by doing.

Intentional teaching continues beyond a lesson. Children move into centers, small groups, art, STEM, music, movement, and dramatic play, where they can test ideas, make choices, and use new skills in context.

LEARNING CENTERS

Guiding questions connect what children already know to new ideas.

SMALL GROUPS

Words from stories and themes become part of classroom conversation.

STEM EXPLORATION

Daily practice builds awareness of sounds, syllables, and spoken language.

ART, MUSIC, & MOVEMENT

Group and independent writing opportunities connect spoken and printed language.

WHOLE-CHILD DEVELOPMENT

Kindergarten readiness is more than academics.

Children also need to manage feelings, work with others, communicate needs, solve problems, and take increasing responsibility for themselves. These skills are practiced throughout the day—not separated from academic learning.

CONFIDENCE

Children are encouraged to contribute ideas, make choices, and try new things.

SELF-REGULATION

Routines and teacher guidance help children manage emotions and behavior.

RELATIONSHIPS

Children practice cooperation, empathy, listening, and positive peer interactions.

INDEPENDENCE

Classroom responsibilities help children prepare for a more structured school day.

LEARNING THROUGH THEMES

One idea can connect an entire day of learning.

Three Cheers is organized into nine month-long units of study. Stories and guiding questions introduce each theme, then children revisit its ideas through language, centers, small groups, math, science, art, movement, and play.

THEME-BASED LEARNING

Books start the conversation.

Children then carry the same concepts into different parts of the classroom, helping new knowledge stick.

WHAT SUPPORTS THE CLASSROOM

More than a lesson plan.

The curriculum gives teachers multiple ways to introduce ideas, reinforce skills, and connect learning with families.

9 Theme Kits

Trade books, big books, activity cards, manipulatives, and language-rich materials organize learning around engaging monthly themes.

Teacher Toolkit

Mood Meter posters, map mats, picture and alphabet cards, center signs, and SEL resources support daily instruction and routines.

Digital Library

Narrated books, theme-aligned digital content, multilingual audio, and family access extend learning beyond the classroom.

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING

Skills children carry beyond
Pre-K.

Building Blocks also uses PATHS to reinforce emotional awareness, self-control, positive relationships, and problem-solving. These skills complement the daily social-emotional learning built into Three Cheers.
